Natural Woven Shades Installed in St. Louis Home

A lot of rooms have great bones but still feel off. Too much glare, not enough privacy, or window treatments that just look heavy and out of place. That's a common problem - and it's usually an easier fix than most people think.

For this St. Louis home, we installed natural woven shades across a bay window grouping and a few individual windows. The goal was simple: filter the light coming in without blocking it completely, and add some warmth to a room that already had a lot of character going on with the wallpaper and trim.

Natural woven shades do something that most other window treatments can't quite pull off. They soften bright light into something that actually feels good in a room. You still get your view. You still get daylight. But the harsh glare is gone, and the space feels more settled. The texture of the woven material also adds a layer of visual interest without competing with everything else in the room.

What we really like about this style is how well it works in rooms where you want privacy during the day without going dark. Pull them halfway down on the upper sash and you get exactly that - neighbors can't see in, but you're still getting natural light from above. It's a practical setup that doesn't sacrifice the look.

These shades work in just about any room, but they really shine in dining rooms, sitting rooms, and home offices where you're spending real time and want the light to work for you instead of against you.
